Information for Maintaining a Healthy Colon

Cleansing Regime

Colon cleansing is very important for the body and while there are many types of colon cleansing methods, there is a basic colon cleansing regime that people can follow. There are several types of colon cleansing regimes that people can choose from, some of which are mentioned below.

Preparation

Before doing any cleansing activity, it’s best to stop taking any medications that are not directly important or immediate. Some examples are daily vitamins and other nutritional supplements. To know which medications may be discontinued, it’s better to check with a healthcare expert or a doctor.

Colon Cleansing Guide

A colon cleansing regime is not something done fast and only once. As the regime part denotes, it should be a regular approach. Basically, a colon cleanse regime has a multi-prolonged approach which includes the use of enema, supplements and exercise. There are several types of supplement based colon cleanse such as the do it yourself method, kit method and enema procedure. Below is a closer look at the options available.

Do it Yourself Method

The most basic type of colon cleansing regime is the P&B shake. This shake is composed of a teaspoon of Psyllium Husk and Bentonite clay. This amount of clay and husk is appropriate for a large glass of water. This shake should be drunk an hour or two before any meal. A glass of water should also be drunk after the shake. The P&B shake should be consumed once every day for three days; for the fourth and fifth day, the P&B shake should be drunk twice a day and thrice during the sixth day and seventh day. From the eighth day up to the last, the shake should be drunk four times a day. This colon cleanse regime should continue for about a month. The only difference of a kit method is that the solution to be consumed can already be dissolved in water.

Enema Procedure

The enema procedure refers to the injection of fluid inside a person’s anal orifice. This is done so to break the clogged wastes in the body. The enema procedure should be strictly followed because a person’s anal system is not naturally accommodating for rear penetration. Basically, the fluid to be injected contains herbs and other possible laxatives. Before doing this colon cleanse regime, it is best to see which type of herbs and laxatives may cause allergic reactions as it is important to make sure that all ingredients are safe for your body. The enema procedure requires the fluid to be injected in minimal amounts during the first few days before increasing the amount up to the last day. Essentially, this procedure is done for seven inconsecutive days. Before choosing this procedure, a consultation with a healthcare expert is also strongly recommended.

The health benefits related to colon cleansing are surprisingly high; as a result, whichever method you use to do the job – the end result should be a healthier and more energetic body.
