Cleanse The Colon

0

Even people who eat a diet rich in fruits and vegetables which are known to be naturally high in fiber need to cleanse the colon periodically. While it is generally thought of as a means to relieve constipation or to restore regularity, that actually isn’t what cleansing is all about. Most people become aware of cleansing when problems like constipation arise and they need a remedy. There is an even greater need to cleanse the colon and it is not directly related to constipation or irregularity.

Toxins, Impurities and Contaminants

One of the main reasons it is necessary to at least periodically cleanse the colon is because of all the toxins, impurities and contaminants that we are exposed to daily. Some of those come from foods we eat or the water we drink while others are environmental from the air we breathe and even the water we bathe in. Foods high in fiber can keep the body regular but they aren’t always able to filter pathogenic toxins from the digestive tract. While all of the organs in the body’s circulatory system act as filters, the liver gets the brunt of punishment when there is an overabundance of toxins. Every vein in the stomach and intestines goes to the liver for filtering, so a toxic colon places the liver on overdrive. That is something that even a healthy diet isn’t completely able to overcome, thus the need to cleanse the colon from time to time.

The Best Colon Cleansing Products

Products that are known to cleanse the colon best are generally formulated with ingredients that cleanse the entire circulatory system. Toxins and free radicals are flushed from the bloodstream while impurities are eradicated from the intestines. Some good examples of commercial cleansing products that also work to detoxify the system from toxins are Oxy-Powder, the Colonix Advanced System by Dr. Natura, Perfect Cleanse by Garden of Life, and Puristat by Abbott Industries. All of those products are 100% natural and none of them are known to have had any reports of adverse reactions or negative side effects.

Cleanse the Colon with Herbs

There are several herbs that can be added to a natural colon cleanse that will function effectively as detoxifiers to filter impurities and toxins from the system before they reach the circulatory system. Some of those herbs are dandelion, licorice root, black walnut hulls, alfalfa, garlic, cayenne, marshmallow, comfrey, aloe, bayberry, goldenseal and echinacea to name a few.

Even when regularity is not an issue, it is important to cleanse the colon at least three to four times per year. Although those vital organs do a marvelous job at filtering toxins and impurities from the body, there is only so much abuse they can take. Living in the 21st century might have its perks, but living in a germ-free bubble isn’t one of them. Whether the colon cleanse is commercially produced or a homemade herbal remedy, cleansing and detoxification are vital to maintaining good health for the entire body.
