Fasting Colon Cleanse
The main purpose of a fasting colon cleanse is to cleanse the colon of preservatives, drug residues, dyes, pesticides, parasites and other toxic substances embedded in the colon walls. This fast can be tiring on the body and hence only light work should be done over the next six days or so.
Materials Needed and Precautions to Observe
In order to carry out this fast, it is important to have grapefruits, lemons, herbal teas, limes, oranges, cleansing enemas, apple juices, enema bags, lemons, skin brushes and Niacin tablets. These ingredients work to polish, cleanse and purify the body of all toxins from deep inside the colon. It is important to eat light foods the day before the fast. Heavy suppers should be avoided at all costs. During the first day of fasting, there will be plenty of elimination so it is important to be near the restroom most of the time.
The First Day
On the first day, a fasting colon cleanse solution comprising quarter cup of warm water mixed with one tablespoon of Epsom salt and quarter cup of citrus juice should be prepared. This is a mild laxative, which helps the stomach clear to make way for the apple drink to come later on. Next, the juices of 2 limes and 6 oranges need to be mixed along with 1.5 liters of distilled water. This juice needs to be had every half an hour with a dosage of 2 cups at each session. Continue this dose until the juice is finished. Continue the same dose with another juice made of 2 lemons and 6 grapefruits over the remaining part of the day at the same intervals. The salts and the juices in combination will ensure continuous bowel movement throughout the day. During the evening, an enema can be taken to complete the process.
The Second and Subsequent Days
The next couple of days, several fasting colon cleanse drinks will need to be prepared. The first drink is called an apple cleanse solution, which is made of 1/3rd cup of distilled water, half cup apple juice, 1 teaspoon whey powder, 1 teaspoon Bentonite clay and a heaped teaspoon of psyllium husk. This drink should be mixed to a smooth consistency. The drink needs to be had very first thing the next morning and four times through the day, making it a total of five times in the day. In addition, it is important to sip on fresh juices, broths and herbal teas. These drinks help replenish moisture lost during the elimination process.
Enemas
Each day during the fast at least one enema needs to be done and by the third day of the fasting, the waste matter lining the colon should begin to loosen. Since the juices and salts stimulate the intestinal walls to contract, the enemas will further help to aid in expulsion of waste.
Once the desired results are reached, the fasting colon cleanse can be stopped gradually. The fast can be broken by adding solids such as salads and whole fruits to the diet initially. For a less taxing colon cleanse, consider using one of the many natural colon cleanse products available on the market.
