Colon Cleansing Equipment
Colon cleansing is an important process for the achievement of a healthy body. If you wish to undergo the process through diets and change in lifestyle, it would require time. However, colon irrigation is often a more efficient and quicker way to have a toxin-free colon and body. The professional colon cleansing centers employ state-of-the-art colon cleansing equipment that is helpful in eliminating the waste in a clean and hygienic manner.
The cleansing of the colon is done by the use of water introduced through the colon cleansing equipment. The process is called hydrotherapy. The other names given to it are colonics, colon irrigation or colon therapy.
Colon Hydrotherapy
The colon cleansing equipment used in colon therapy introduces water to the colon. When water is introduced with a little pressure, it invokes and releases the waste and water. The pressure used in all hydrotherapy equipment is less than one-pound per square inch (psi). The colon hydrotherapy system has two kinds of equipment that can be used for cleansing the colon.
One type of equipment of colon hydrotherapy is the “closed tube” system whereas the other is the “open-basin” system. Both these systems use water pressure to flush out the toxins and waste matter. Some of the equipment might also use the force of gravity to send water to the colon, but this largely depends on the individual product, company and manufacturer.
Closed tube system: in this, the waste matter flushed out from the colon is discreetly drained out without any offensive odors.
Open systems: in this, the waste matter is flushed through transparent tubes that are visible. In addition, the odors associated are not eliminated in this system.
The colon cleansing equipment for the hydrotherapy includes water filters for both the above-mentioned systems. These filters can range from two to six in number, depending on the particular equipment. Out of these, two to four filters are used for water lines both for hot and cold water. Some colon cleansing equipment is also fitted with carbon/charcoal filters and UV light.
The temperature gauge in the equipment controls the water temperature. The temperature that is generally kept for colon cleansing is close to body temperature. However, this can be slightly warmer or colder to provide additional therapeutic effects to the patients. The pressure gauge in the equipment monitors the water pressure.
The cost of the colon cleansing equipment ranges between $5,000 to $12,000 and each session could cost $35 to $75.
The Therapy
When the therapy is started, the patient is made to lie on the treatment table. A disposable speculum that is quite small is inserted into the patient’s rectum. Through this speculum, water is passed to the colon. Generally, no drugs or chemicals are involved in the process, thus eliminating any side effects. Since the colon cleansing equipment uses disposable speculums, multistage purification systems of water and other monitoring panels, the possibility of contamination is generally ruled out. A trained and skilled hydro therapist uses massage along with several sessions to dislodge the fecal matter.
