Colon Cleansing Methods
Many people are now learning about colon cleansing and are considering the different methods in order to fight against certain health problems which range from constipation to obesity. For those of you who are not yet sure about the different colon cleansing methods that are available, this article will give a brief rundown of some of them.
Enemas
Enemas are not the most common method for colon cleansing but they are mostly done by people who are suffering from constipation. The process includes the insertion of a miniature amount of water into the anal cavity to clear the bowels. While this procedure only affects the lower intestine it is still an effective procedure for acute constipation relief.
Colon Hydrotherapy
Colon Hydrotherapy is similar to an enema; however it is a more detailed process that yields more healthy results. With this procedure, water, which is generally warm and filtered, is inserted into the anal cavity through tubing made from plastic. The main difference between the two procedures is that the Colon Hydrotherapy cleans the large intestine and all equipment used has to be approved by the Food and Drug administration (FDA). This procedure is often times used in combination with an oxygen based cleanser, which is believed to eradicate toxins within the small and large intestines as well as the rest of the body over a period of time when used together. If you decide to use this method, ensure that the procedure is done by a certified professional. You may also hear the term colenema or colonic irrigation in reference to colon hydrotherapy.
Oxygen-Based Colon Cleansing
Oxygen based cleansers are capsules that are taken orally and are used to remove impacted fecal matter naturally by way of activated oxygen. This is considered by some as the most effective method of colon cleansing and is very effective against constipation. It is also gentle enough to be used long term to maintain colon health. For best results it is recommended that this method be combined with Colon hydrotherapy.
Herbal Colon Cleansers
Using herbal colon cleansers is the least expensive method available. They often contain psyllium which increases the volume of stool and as such the colon will contract. While these herbal cleansers are effective against constipation but do not actually manually clean the colon. Instead they are used to help the body perform better at flushing out the colon. There are a wide range of herbal ingredients available which each playing a certain role in cleansing the colon. This method is best when used in conjunction with another colon cleanse method.
Laxatives
Laxatives work similar to herbal cleansers in that it is a temporary fix and should not be used to treat chronic conditions. The laxative causes the intestine to contract to induce bowel movement and softens the stool for easy passing.
There are a number of products available on the market which includes liquid cleansers and cleansing supplements; some of which work phenomenally well.
