There has been an upsurge in the demand for colon cleansing by Americans. This can be traced to the increased demand for alternative health practices generally. Of course, the practice of colon cleansing has been in existence as far back as can be remembered. At least there are records indicating that they’ve been in practice since biblical times. However, the increased demand has also created an avenue for exploitation by unscrupulous individuals resulting in what has come to be known as the colon cleansing scam.

As a result the demand for cleansing products is high and this has resulted in the inevitable pop-up of criminals seeking monetary gain. Some websites are offering free products but ask for your credit card details either for shipping and handling charges and end up charging the card each and every month with an indiscriminate amount. It is often difficult to cancel these payments as the “companies” are hard to locate. Likewise there are some products out there that offer harmful side effects, mainly due to unnatural and improper ingredients.

How to Avoid a Colon Cleansing Scam

Tip 1—verify the authenticity of the claim: this is a very important step in avoiding becoming a victim of a colon cleansing scam. Some pointers include noticing poorly built and structured websites that have detailed information about their products.

Tip 2—Read user reviews: if a product or company has a good track record and is genuine, past users will declare this.

Tip 3—Avoid spam mails: they are usually employed by scammers.

All in all, despite controversy, colon cleansing has its many benefits. Just remember that when looking for products through the various websites or companies, take a little extra care and be diligent so as to avoid becoming a victim of a scam.
