A colon polyp is a growth that appears on the lining of the rectum or the colon. These growths may usually be benign but gradually some can turn cancerous. You can also have more than a single colon polyp. You stand at a higher risk of getting a colon polyp if you already have had one previously or if somebody in your family has had a polyp.
