Women generally take less fiber when compared to men. This increases the risk of more colon problems in women. The health of your colon is directly related to your fiber intake. If you take adequate fiber, then all your colon related problems can be steered away. Food rich in fiber include whole wheat products, wheat bran, seeds, nuts, oats, flax seeds, vegetables and fruits.

Water Intake Level

You should also watch your water intake. This is important as it helps to get rid of harmful toxins from your body so you can maintain a healthy colon. A combination of food rich in fiber along with adequate fluid consumption is essential to avoid colon problems in women.

Colon problems in women are less talked about since women generally refrain from consulting a doctor when it comes to issues related to their colon. However, it is very important that you go to a doctor and discuss any symptoms that you experience. Your doctor will decide on the tests that need to be conducted or will recommend a colon cleanse.
